Letter to B / May 5, 2016

Tonight, we lead worship for National Day of Prayer in the square in downtown Hickory. It was an incredibly powerful night of proclaiming victory over our city and it made that little flame in my chest that I had started to feel was dimming at Christ Church catch wind again and start to grow. I pray that this is only the beginning of something HUGE that God is going to do right here in Hickory, NC, and I pray that we can be a part. I pray that revival starts right here and right now. I pray that this seed that has been planted grows into a tall tree with roots deeper than we could ever imagine. I pray we see God in a mighty and even miraculous way.

My favorite thing about us will always be the fact that we lead worship together. There is nothing more intimidate, more special, or more powerful to me than that. I literally could not have designed with my own two hands a better person for me than you and it absolutely overwhelms with awe and gratitude every, single day the ways that God has worked in our lives in order to bring us together. His plan truly is perfect and His will so much grater than we could ever ask or imagine. I am so thankful for you, baby!

Funny side note: my lips literally turned the color of an eggplant while leading worship. It's freaking Cinco de Mayo and it was FREEZING outside! I didn't know it was supposed to be cold outside, so I brought jeans, a tank top, and sandals to change into. Thank God Allison Frank let me borrow her sweater!

Speaking of her... I am so thankful for her and Parker and it has been amazing the ways that God has just instantly created a bond between us! They have been an answered prayer for us as we started this new journey at The Hills. We love them so much already and I can't wait to see where our friendship goes.

I had a man I'd never met come up to me after our set tonight and he said "God wanted me to tell you something. Your voice reflects His glory uniquely and powerfully. You are going to be a voice for this generation. God is going to give you all the desires of your heart if you just trust and rest in Him. I know things have been crazy right now and you've just been trying to stay afloat. I know you've been asking God for a lot. But he wants you to know one thing: you're his daughter. Therefore you are an heir to his kingdom. And your voice will lead people to the gates."

Wow. I am still so shocked.

God is moving and He sure isn't being shy!!!

We went to dinner with the Partins, Anauos, Parker & Allison...

with them!

Courageous Leadership by Bill Hybels– Introduction Notes

"What makes my heart beat fast is engaging with leaders in local churches, because I believe that the local church is the hope of the world. I believe to the core of my being that local church leaders have the potential to be the most influential force on the planet. If they "get it" and get on with it, churches can become the redemptive centers that Jesus intended them to be. Dynamic teaching, creative worship, deep community, effective evangelism, and joyful service will combine to renew the hearts and minds of seekers and believers alike, strengthen families, transform communities, and change the world."

"So that's my hope in writing this book– that men and women with the spiritual gift of leadership will begin to lead energetically, joyfully, and effectively in local churches everywhere, and that under the blessing of God and the leadership of these devoted servants of Christ, the church will become what it is meant to be: a force against which the very gates of hell cannot prevail."
